This is The Westerfield Club, a storied lakeside private golf, swim, and social club rooted in tradition and spanning 200 acres in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Westerfield is itself an heirloom—rooted in tradition and shaped by endless optimism for a future in which families, friends, and future generations will leave their own marks in time.

The Pool & Family Grounds

At the heart of Westerfield, a resort-style pool serves as both retreat and social hub. Spanning more than 11,500 square feet, it is anchored by six private cabanas just steps from the water. The experience is thoughtfully layered, with submerged loungers at the water’s edge, a 85-foot water slide, and a splash pad for younger guests. The Family Pavilion offers a new, outdoor pool bar and family-friendly restaurant. A playground completes the grounds—reinforcing Westerfield’s vision as a place where families gather, memories form, and summers endure.

Library and Billiards

The Library and Billiards Room is Westerfield at its most private—a richly appointed retreat designed for quiet evenings and unhurried company. Wood-paneled and softly lit, it recalls the great club rooms of another era, where time moved more slowly and tradition carried weight. A working fireplace anchors the room, surrounded by deep, comfortable seating suited for conversation, reflection, or a well-made drink at day’s end. Beyond, the billiards room offers a discreet escape—intimate, familiar, and intentionally removed from the day’s pace.

Great Room — Bar

The Great Room is Westerfield’s nod to the grand hotel lobbies of another era—a place designed as much for arrival as for lingering. Anchored by a full-service bar, it serves as the social heart of the club, welcoming members throughout the day. Adjacent, an 85-seat white-tablecloth restaurant offers all-day classics—thoughtfully prepared, familiar, and timeless in spirit. The adjoining lounge, centered around a working fireplace, invites conversation, quiet moments, and the comfortable rhythm of daily life at the club.

Golf Practice Grounds

Westerfield’s state-of-the-art practice grounds are designed to elevate both the game and the gathering. The driving range features ten covered outdoor hitting bays, complemented by an indoor simulator room, one down-range bag, and a dedicated teaching facility, all equipped with the latest TrackMan technology, offering precision, insight, and year-round play. An outdoor covered terrace overlooks the range, furnished for relaxed conversation and quiet observation. A wood-burning fireplace, integrated entertainment setup, and intimate catering kitchen allow the practice grounds to transition seamlessly from training to hospitality—hosting lessons, evenings with friends, or informal club gatherings as the day gives way to dusk.

Great Room — Lobby

The Westerfield experience has been entirely reimagined. Every element is now thoughtfully designed with intention—shaped around the rhythm of arrival, gathering, play, and restoration—to create a seamless and elevated experience for members and guests alike.  The Lobby of The Westerfield Club is more than a destination—it is a place to gather, to be inspired, to dream, to connect. Here, the stories are told, the memories are made that will endure for generations to come.

Outdoor Covered Terrace

Beyond, a covered outdoor terrace extends the experience into the landscape, offering an easy transition from indoors to out. Thoughtful seating arrangements and decor create a space where the beauty of the natural environment at Westerfield is even further enhanced through intentional design.

Pro Shop & Smokehouse

Arrival begins at a gracious bag drop and cart staging area, set within landscaped gardens and immediately adjacent to the new Pro Shop and Smokehouse, which also serves as the club’s turn. Here, members will find cold beverages and classic cocktails alongside an outdoor smoke pit with rotating daily specials—an easy, convivial gathering point overlooking the 18-hole Punch Bowl, designed for both practice and spirited competition.
